UW-W Exchange Program

Currently, there are no tuition exchange places available to UW-Whitewater students at Murdoch University. UW-Whitewater students may choose to study at Murdoch on a non-exchange basis and be subject to Murdoch's tuition rates (see here) or can instead choose to participate in a different UW-Whitewater exchange program.

Studying at Murdoch University offers students a unique opportunity to take courses across the curriculum while experiencing the vast beauty of Western Australia.

Murdoch is located in the sunny city of Perth. Students will participate in Murdoch’s 10-day, 2,500 mile “North-West Trip” across the Australian Outback, which includes hiking through untouched Karijini National Park, snorkeling Ningaloo Reef, swimming with dolphins, and building friendships with other students from all over the world. 
 

Academics

Committed to making a difference, Murdoch University taking a flexible approach to education where students and staff work together to make discoveries. Murdoch is home to over 18,000 students, more than 3,000 of which are international students.

Students of all majors are eligible to participate in this program. Murdoch offers courses in Biology, Business, Chemistry, IT/Computer Science, Economics, Education, Math, Psychology, and Health Sciences. Accommodation

Students will have the opportunity to stay on-campus at the Murdoch University Village. With 6 apartment styles, the student village offers students the complete student experience. Students can enjoy facilities such as a student lounge, beach volleyball court, swimming pool, and access to the university gym. 

Murdoch does not provide an off-campus accommodation service, however, they will provide international students advice. Murdoch will also assist students in finding a homestay. For more information on housing please click here.

Student Life and Surroundings

Students at Murdoch have the unique experience of living in a vibrant city, while having access to some of the worlds most beautiful beaches, and explore Australia’s virtually untouched wilderness.  Along with the vast natural beauty, students will have the chance to live the Australian lifestyle.

Perth, the largest city in Western Australia, has a population of around 2 million. With a strong arts scene, a variety of sporting options, and the largest park inner-city park in the world, Perth has something to offer everyone.

Cost of Attendance, Financial Aid, and Scholarships

Exchange programs are affordable study abroad options that allow students to pay UW-W tuition while studying abroad. As with all approved study abroad programs, UW-W financial aid can be used on this program.  Eligible students are encouraged to apply for the Wisconsin Grant for Study Abroad, and UW-W and external study abroad scholarships are available.

UW-W tuition, as well as the Global Experiences Application Fee and CISI international insurance, are billed to the student’s UW-W account.  Other expenses are paid individually (e.g. living expenses) or to the host university (e.g. accommodation).

***For comparison, the UW-W Financial Aid office estimates the cost of attendance on the UW-W campus for one semester to be $7,400.

 

Passport and Visa Requirements
Students will need a passport to study abroad that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the end of their program.  Students must also apply for an Australian student visa, a process which can be completed online after acceptance by Murdoch University.
