Program Description:

Jamaica: Sustainable Business in the Caribbean

Deadline extended until October 10th 2014
Location: Jamaica, West Indies
Duration: Winterim 2015 UW-W class, Jan 4th-11th 2015 (tentative travel)
Requirements: Consent of the instructor, minimum of 2.5 GPA, at least second semester freshman status, and good disciplinary standing
Language of Instruction: English
Course Selection: Safety 491 or Management 491
Application Deadline: Friday October 10th, 2014
PROGRAM:
This course is designed to provide the student with experience in sustainable business practices in two leading industries in the Caribbean: tourism, and hospitality. Students begin with two days of preparatory instruction on campus and then proceed to Jamaica where they will visit representative companies in the hospitality and tourism industries, receive presentations from management on sustainability efforts and certifications, and make their own contribution through team-based sustainability projects.
Estimated Program Fee: $2499

* The estimated program fee is based on 14 paying participants. The actual program fee will be established mid-term when all participants have obtained legal travel documents.
