Program Description:

China: Exploring China

Location: China, Asia
Duration: Spring 2015 UW-W class, May 24th-June 13th 2015 (tentative travel)
Requirements: Consent of the instructor, minimum of 2.5 GPA, at least second semester freshman status, and good disciplinary standing
Language of Instruction: English
Course Selection: LSINDP 291/491 or POLISCI 491 or INT STUD 491
Application Deadline: Friday December 5th 2014
Program:
This course will introduce students first-hand to China and its role in the world. Global learning is a High Impact Educational Practice (HIP) promoted by Liberal Education America’s Promise (LEAP) that has been shown to be beneficial for students. The course will start with ‘survival Chinese’ training. In Beijing, Xian, Shijiazhuang,  and Zhangjajie, Changsha, students will learn about Chinese language, politics, economics, social issues, history, art and culture. Tours will be supplemented with lectures by experts and discussions and interactions with Chinese students.
