Southeast Asia: Thailand, Laos,Cambodia, and Vietnam

The Program

This course introduces students to the history, geography, politics, economic, religion, education, and culture of Thailand, Laos,Cambodia and Vietnam with a particular emphasis on the social changes during the past decade in the context of globalization. Students will examine urbanization, economic development, inequalities by income, ethnicity, and gender.
Location Chiang Mai (Thailand), Luang Prabang (Laos), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Hoi An, Hue and Ha Noi (Vietnam)
Duration This is class will meet on the UW-W campus spring 2018 with the academic travel taking place May 20th - June 7th 2018
Requirements Minimum of 2.5 GPA, at least second semester freshman status, & good disciplinary standing. Consent of the instructor.
