Program Description:
UW-Whitewater Symphonic Wind Ensemble:  Salzburg, Vienna and Prague

The Program and Locations:
The Symphonic Wind Ensemble will be touring and performing in Salzburg, Vienna and Prague. The objectives for students is to provide them with a strong interest in music and the opportunity to learn form local experts about the astoundingly rich musical heritage of the area being visited. Additionally, the ensemble will be presenting 3 concerts that will feature music composed by American Composers.

Requirements:
  • Academic status needs to be at least 2nd semester freshman
  • 2.5 GPA
  • Good UW-W conduct record
  • Consent of instructor
Course Selection:
1 undergraduate credit will be earned from this experience

Estimated Program Fee:
$3949 includes:
round trip airfare, airport transfers, accomodations, guides, excursions, incountry transportation, daily breakfasts, 4 group dinners, and CISI insurance.
Not included:
transportation to O'hare airport, lunches, non group dinners, beverages, gratuities for guides and drivers, passport, visa (if required) and incidentals.

The Tentative Travel Itinerary:
A mountainous and breathtakingly beautiful country, Austria is rich in cultural history, producing some of the greatest musicians (Mozart, Haydn, Lisxt, Stauss), scientists (Doppler and Mendel) and psychologists (Freud). Austria will leave you smiling and understanding that the hills and cities really are alive with the sound of music and much more. The Czech Republic was established mere decades ago after the Velvet Revolution. With beautiful terrain, medieval castles, flowing rivers, and a warm citizenry, The Czech Republic is now one of the most prosperous post-communist states......... World Strides
