Studying at the University of Southern Queensland offers students a chance to take courses across the curriculum while experiencing Australia’s unique culture. Located in the beautiful state of Queensland, Australia, USQ provides a great learning environment along with access to world class beaches, rainforests and tropical reefs.
Academics
USQ is an innovative school that is driven to make learning accessible to all students. USQ students benefit from a low student to lecturer ratio allowing students to receive personal attention for academic assistance. With students from over 80 countries, USQ is a rich multicultural environment that is welcoming to all students.Students of all majors are eligible to participate in this exchange. USQ offers courses in Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Communication, Business, IT/Computer Science, Economics, Education, Psychology, and Health Sciences. NOTE: USQ's Semester 1 is our spring semester; Semester 2 is our fall semester.
Accommodation
Students at USQ will have the option of receiving on-campus accommodation known as Residential Colleges. Rooms in this accommodation come fully furnished, have internet access, laundry machines, and recreational facilities. Meal plans are included in some housing options. Student Life and Surroundings
The campus at Toowoomba is home to over 4,000 students, and is the main campus at USQ. Toowoomba’s campus provides students with modern facilities including 24-7 computer lab access, art gallery/theatre, a post office, two banks, a traditional Japanese garden, student bookstore, and a library with incredible student support. Students at USQ have many opportunities to become involved in academics, athletics, and clubs. The residence halls organize frequent social gatherings and sports competitions. For academic support, students can join a learning community specific to their area of need.
Toowoomba is located about 90 minutes outside of Queensland’s biggest city, Brisbane. Brisbane and the surrounding areas are home to some of the worlds most beautiful beaches. With an excellent public transport system, it is easy and affordable to get around. Brisbane has a substantial arts scene including live music of all genres. Brisbane has hosted several international championships including the Commonwealth Games, Rugby World Cup, and is even making a bid for the 2024 Olympic Games.
Cost of Attendance, Financial Aid, and Scholarships
Exchange programs are affordable study abroad options that allow students to pay UW-W tuition while studying abroad. As with all approved study abroad programs, UW-W financial aid can be used on this program. Eligible students are encouraged to apply for the Wisconsin Grant for Study Abroad, and UW-W and external study abroad scholarships are available.UW-W tuition, as well as the Global Experiences Application Fee and CISI international insurance, are billed to the student’s UW-W account. Other expenses are paid individually (e.g. living expenses) or to the host university (e.g. accommodation).

Passport and Visa Requirements
Students will need a passport to study abroad that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the end of their program. Students must also apply for an Australian student visa, a process which can be completed online after acceptance by the University of Southern Queensland.Key Dates
