Studying at Arnhem Business School offers students a unique opportunity to take courses across the curriculum in English while experiencing Dutch culture and an international campus and environment.
Arnhem Business School (ABS) is the internationally renowned business faculty within HAN University of Applied Sciences and is the largest university of applied sciences in the Netherlands. They offer several class across the business curriculum . With around 2,600 students from 70 different countries ABS’s main objective is to enhance employability and internationalization. ABS’s international focus is reflected in the international these of the courses and the great importance attached to students spending par if their time aboard. HAN University of Applied Sciences is accredited by the Dutch Ministry of Education and therefore complies with all the legal and quality requirements. No prior knowledge of Dutch is required, as a wide range of courses are taught in English.
AccommodationArnhem Business School guarantees furnished accommodation, rented on a per semester basis, for all of its exchange students through the housing association Vivare. Students can choose between freelancer units (rooms) as student accommodation for two or three persons or students can choose other housing such as an apartment. A buddy (Dutch student) will help you get settled in and acquainted with Dutch culture and student life. ABS also organizes an orientation week at the start of each semester, excursions during the semester and a farewell party before you leave. You will find everything you need at the Arnhem campus: extensive multimedia centers, good IT facilities, and places to relax with your fellow students. There are sports facilities close by and the campus is located in the middle of a large park. The campus has beautiful modern buildings with escalators, "floating" study areas and up-to-date multimedia centers. You will have access to a wireless network, allowing you to work on your laptop or notebook anywhere on the campus.
Student Life and Surroundings
Arnhem is the capital city of the province of Gelderland and has a rich and eventful history. Arnhem has a variety of attractions to offer; from fashion to history, from museums to pubs and from concert halls to nightclubs. The variety of pubs, restaurants and shops in combination with the historical environment is what makes Arnhem so special. The National Park 'Hoge Veluwe' is situated close to the city's northern border. At the Kröller Müller Museum, you can admire Vincent van Gogh's world-famous paintings. The presence of the renowned ArtEZ academy of art contributes to a rich cultural climate with many art galleries, exhibitions, theaters, music, and annual events. Students take advantage of their weekends by traveling throughout the Netherlands and other countries in Europe, with reasonably prices airfare and trains.
Exchange programs are affordable study abroad options that allow students to pay UW-W tuition while studying abroad. As with all approved study abroad programs, UW-W financial aid can be used on this program. Eligible students are encouraged to apply for the Wisconsin Grant for Study Abroad, and UW-W and external study abroad scholarships are available.
Cost of Attendance, Financial Aid, and Scholarships
UW-W tuition, as well as the Global Experiences Application Fee and CISI international insurance, are billed to the student’s UW-W account. Other expenses are paid individually (e.g. living expenses) or to the host university (e.g. accommodation).

Passport and Visa RequirementsStudents will need a passport to study abroad that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the end of their program. Students must also apply online for a residence permit to study in the Netherlands for periods of more than three months.
