The University of Wisconsin - Whitewater offers a variety of scholarships to support students' study abroad experiences. In order to be considered for a UW-W Global Experiences Scholarship, students must:

Note: You must submit your scholarship application for the same term as your global experiences program application. For example, if you are applying for a "Spring Travel Study 2020" program, you must submit a "Spring Travel Study 2020" scholarship application. Scholarship applications submitted for any term other than the term you are studying abroad will not be considered.
The following is a list of scholarships available through the UW-W Office of Global Experiences scholarship process. Please read the descriptions and criteria carefully before applying to ensure that you meet the minimum scholarship requirements before applying. One UW-W Global Experiences Scholarship Application is sufficient for all UW-W sponsored study abroad scholarships for which you are eligible, with the exception of scholarships that are indicated to have a separate application process.
This scholarship is available to UW-W students studying abroad on API study abroad programs.
UW-W undergraduate students participating in a study abroad program with an Accounting major/minor preferred but students with an International Business major/minor are also eligible.
All UW-Whitewater students who will have junior or senior standing at the time of participation, regardless of major, are eligible for this award. Candidates have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be participating in any study abroad program (travel study, semester, academic year, etc).
This scholarship was established in honor of Charles E. Cottle. Charles is an emeritus professor of Political Science, serving UW-Whitewater from 1977 to 2008. Students with a major in the College of Letters & Sciences who are pursuing a first-time study abroad or travel study program are eligible for this award. Candidates must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher.
Students with a major in the College of Arts & Communication are eligible for this award. Candidates must have sophomore status or higher and a GPA of at least 3.0. Scholarship funding is provided by the College of Arts & Communication and is subject to availability.
Students must have sophomore standing or higher, a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and a major in the College of Business & Economics to be eligible for this award. Scholarship funding is provided by the College of Business & Economics and is subject to availability.
Note: The College of Business and Economics has committed to awarding scholarships of $1000 to all students participating in a semester or year long program, and $500 to applicants participating in a short-term program who meet these scholarship eligibility requirements.
Students must be Education majors to be eligible for this scholarship. Candidates must have sophomore standing or higher and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Scholarship funding is provided by the College of Education & Professional Studies and is subject to availability. Note: At this time, College of Education scholarship funding is reserved for students participating in international student teaching programs who are doing a portion of their student teaching in the U.S. and a portion abroad during the same semester.
Students with a major in the College of Letters & Sciences are eligible for this award. Candidates must have sophomore status or higher and a GPA of at least 2.5. Scholarship funding is provided by the College of Letters & Sciences and is subject to availability.
This scholarship is available to UW-W sophomore, junior, or senior standing students interested in a semester or travel study abroad and must meet the minimum university academic standard (GPA of 2.5) at the time of the application submission.
The Norman and Kathleen Wood International Education Scholarship was established by Norman and Kathleen Wood, UW-Whitewater alumni, class of 1965, to honor their children: Amy McCormick, Kevin Wood (UW-W, 1993) David Wood, Derek Wood and their spouses and children. The Woods recognize the value of international experience and want to support students seeking to study abroad. Students must be College of Letters & Sciences majors pursuing a study abroad program for a semester or longer in order to be eligible for this award. Candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Candidates must demonstrate financial need.
The Peter Hoff Study Abroad Scholarship was established by emeritus professor of Languages & Literatures, Peter Hoff. Professor Hoff came to Whitewater in 1987, and from 1994 to 2018, served as the first World Languages Coordinator for the Languages & Literature Department. This scholarship funds longer term (semester or year-long) international study for world language majors. Professor Hoff encourages longer language and cultural immersion to achieve a high level of language proficiency and cultural awareness. To be eligible, the student must be majoring in one of the UWW world languages and have completed 4 semesters of the language. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Applicants must have no previous study abroad experience.

All UW-Whitewater students who will have junior or senior standing at the time of participation, regardless of major, are eligible for this award. Candidates have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must be participating in a semester or year-long program.
All UW-Whitewater degree seeking students who are not in their final semester at the time of participation in a global experience are eligible. Priority consideration will be given to students who are currently under-represented in global education programs including first generation college students, Pell grant eligible students, and underrepresented minorities. Up to 5 scholarships of $2000 each are awarded per fall/winterim and spring/summer semesters.
Students must have sophomore standing or higher, a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and a major in the College of Business & Economics to be eligible for this award.
Students participating in any global experiences program who a 2.5 UW-W cumulative GPA or higher and with demonstrated financial need are eligible for this scholarship.
This scholarship is available to students studying abroad in the United Kingdom for a period of one semester or longer. Students must have junior standing or higher at the time of participation and a GPA of 3.0 or above. This scholarship has a separate, paper-based application process.
