NOTE: This class will meet on campus summer semester. The academic travel component will tentatively be Aug 14th - 29th 2021. Contact the faculty for class times, dates and location on campus. Faculty-led Japan Diversity in Sports: Paralympic Travel Study 2021

The Program
Using the Olympics as a case study, the course will examine diversity issues in amateur and professional sports from the 1930’s to present day. The class will address diversity barriers in sports such as race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and disability including the need for and raising significance of the Paralympics Games, Gay Games, and Special Olympics

The Program
